Positive Distortion

I want to keep posting regularly, but I'm not in the mood for another "log of my day." So I dove deep into my bookshelf and came out with my notebooks in which I write all of my GENIUS ideas, and quotes that I find inspiring. Like any great mind, I am always looking for other great minds...So, I'll show you mine if you show me yours. Rule: No stupid quotes that we've all heard a gazillion times.

"We need time to dream, time to remember, and time to reach the infinite. Time to be."
-Gladys Taber

"Self-love, My liege, is not so vile a sin as self-neglecting."
-Shakespeare, Henry V

"Heroin makes young women old and old women dead."
-Clairann

"When I want to drag a helpless, impotent beast around on my back... then, I'll get a Boyfriend.
-Danna Allen

"The greatest happiness in life is the conviction that we are loved, loved for ourselves, or rather loved in spite of ourselves."
-Victor Hugo

"People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid."
-Soren Aaby Kierkegaard

"My dearest, has the count not just told us that all human wisdom is contained in these two words - "wait" and "hope"."
-Alexander Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo

"If you are all wrapped up in yourself, you are overdressed."
-Kate Halverson

"A friend doesn't go on a diet because you are fat. A friend never defends a husband who gets his wife an elctric skillet for her birthday. A friend will tell you she saw your old boyfriend - and he's a priest."
-Erma Bombeck

There they are. Judge them, love them, hate them, whatever. I know they aren't the most amazing quotes in the world, but I was hoping to choose some that you've never heard before. Now, go. Have a great day and make your own "quote".

  1. Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

  2. This is one I just heard this morning about a 104-year-old man who was a gospel doctrine teacher for 65 years (the same calling in the same ward!). It was a really neat article:

"The only thing a dead pair of hands can take into heaven is what they've given away."

Okay, so that's a borderline "journey/dance/life" quote, but you should see this guy's picture! He's so cute!
